After being vacant for a number of months, the building at 216 Centre Street is once again home to a business.
On March 1, 2012, Kayli Fafard, who grew up in Assiniboia, opened Inspired Hair & Body Salon.
Fafard celebrated her grand opening on March 15 where she offered snacks, refreshments and door prizes.
Fafard graduated from the Masters School of Hair Design in May of 2010 and went to work in Assiniboia at Hair Quarters. Fafard attained her journeyman’s certificate on January 16, 2012.
Fafard offers full hair services, including extensions. She also does airbrushing on nails. “I am constantly taking more education, refreshing and upgrading,” said Fafard.
Joining Fafard will be esthetician Shannon Ellert from Rockglen. Ellert will be going manicures, pedicures, gel nails and aromotherapy wraps two days a week.
Fafard is the daughter of Richard Fafard and Adora Rasmussen and has two brothers, Riley and Dain and one sister Taylor.
Fafard and boyfriend Travis Willford, make their home on a farm south of Coronach. After living in the community for some time, Fafard is looking forward to establishing her business and making her home here. “I am very excited to ket to know more people and feel more like I am involved with the community.” said Fafard.
The young hairdresser offers a full line of retail at her salon and encourages walk-ins. She will be open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 9-5, Wednesdays from 1-9, Thursdays from 10-6 and two Saturdays a month.
