Mankota School Class of 2012: Chance William Henry Baron - Kylie Dawn Gavelin - Paige Lindsey Harrison - Tara Jaylan Highsaw - Asha-Lee Marie Kress - Brayden Charles Switzer and Kaci Jae Wilkins
The commencement exercises of the Mankota School were held on Friday, May 18 at the Mankota Agricultural Hall.
The theme for the Class of 2012 was “Life’s a Garden - Dig it” a quote by movie-character Joe Dirt.
The welcome was given by Mr. Ron Ficzel, followed by the processional of graduands and their parents.
Kassidy Silbernagel led the singing of O’ Canada.
Mr. Ron Ficzel read a letter from the Govenor General.
Mrs. Kathy Rieder gave the Principal’s Address.
The Address to Parents was given by Brayden Switzer, with a reply from Mrs. Chantal Switzer.
The Roger Knaus Memorial Scholarship was presented by Mrs. Kathy Rieder to Kylie Gavelin.
An address to the Staff was given by Kaci Wilkins and Paige Harrison with a reply from Mrs. Karla Silbernagel.
Kylie Gavelin presented the address to the School Community Council followed by the reply from Mrs. Lennie Gavelin.
The Mary Wickhorst Memorial Scholarship was presented by Mrs. Kathy Cameron to Kylie Gavelin.
Greetings from the Prairie South School Division was given by Dr. Shawn Davidson. Asha-Lee Kress Introduced the Guest Speaker, Mrs. Suzanne Morgan.
The Lions Club Scholarship was presented by Mrs. Marie Selensky to Kylie Gavelin.
Asha-Lee Kress gave the Valedictorian Address.
Mrs. Kathy Rieder and Mr. Ron Ficzel presented the Diplomas to the graduands.
The Governor General’s Academic Medal was presented to 2011 Graduate, Melissa Chabot by Mrs. Kathy Rieder
Histories and Prophecies were given by Nakita Nogue and Reanne Hanson
The address to Graduates was given by Sarah Schafer with a reply by Tara Highsaw and Chance Baron
A Slide Show was presented by Sarah Schafer followed by the benediction by Mrs. Ruby Sayers.
The exercises ended with the recessional of the graduates and their escorts, the Grand March followed.
