The ceremonies for Rockglen School graduation took place on Saturday, May 26.
This year’s theme was “Capture the Dream”, and there were 12 students that participated in the ceremonies. The graduands were Kara Ager, Colleen Bakke, Daniel Faucher, Basil Crooks, Britney Hubert, Talain Knoss, Breanna Hostin, Alisa Prefontaine, Amanda Stangler, Brooke Stewart, Mackenzie Stewart and Tenae Walter.
The ceremonies began with the Mistress of Ceremonies, Taylor Pearson introducing herself. Then Dawn Stewart, accompanied by Hayley Borgerson on the piano, sang Oh Canada.
Alisa Prefontaine gave a touching blessing to her fellow graduates and guests. Then Colleen Christopherson-Cote, Board Chairman for Prairie South School Division, brought greetings on behalf of the Division.
This year’s Salutatorians were Alisa Prefontaine and Britney Hubert, and the Valedictorian was Mackenzie Stewart.
A slideshow of the graduating class was created by Taylor Pearson taking everyone back down memory lane. Next a video presentation of the class was shown.
Guest speakers Marc Spagrud and Kathy Prefontaine gave a heartwarming speech for the graduates. It was an excellent evening enjoyed by a gym full of guests. Good luck to all the graduates of Rockglen School in the future.
