The Town of Coronach has hired Geransky Metals out of Birch Hills, SK to clean up the big pile of scrap metal that has been accumulating over the past couple years.
According to Town Administrator Murray Setrum, the town has had a hard time getting a contractor in to get the scrap cleaned up. But, Geransky Metals was in the area doing other jobs, so it worked out well for the town.
Setrum says the clean up isn’t something that happens every year, but needs to be done every two or three years.
The job should take a couple weeks to complete. The scrap metal is compacted into square, managable bales and is being shipped south of the border.
