May Snowstorm
The front page of the paper had a photo of Cecil Keast, shoveling ankle-deep snow off of the sidewalk in front of Triangle News and his office, as well as some Centre Street photos of piles of snow.
“Traffic in Coronach slowed down considerably as winter came upon us last Thursday. Vehicles had problems moving, school buses left early to transport the children home safely and the S.T.C. bus wa not allowed to leave the city.
Bengough Recreation Board Report
Graduation was held on Friday, May 6. Awards were presented including the Holt Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in Canadian History to Nina Patel. 1982 Governor General award presented to Amanda Palmer.
Coronach Town Council Report
The Coronach Economic Development Committee contacted several professional firms, such as dentist, optometrist, etc. inviting them to consider opening an office in Coronach, even on a part-time basis. Some positive response has been received.
Births
Born to Joe and Charlene Beausoleil on Monday, May 9 at 5:47 p.m. at the Coronach Union Hospital, a son, Nich-olas Danielle weighing 6 lbs. 1 3⁄4 oz. and measuring 19 inch-es long, a brother for Michael.
