The Coronach Alliance Church and St. Ignace Catholic Church in Willow Bunch were alive with the sound of music this week.
Voices united in celebration of the Christmas season, with choirs from Coronach/Rockglen, Willow Bunch and Bengough performing.
The first of the performances was held on Friday, December 2 at the Coronach Alliance Church. The community choir, with members from each of the denominations in the communities of Coronach and Rockglen.
The 23 strong Coronach/Rockglen choir was led by Father Andrew Pawlowicz with assistance from Dorothea Trihardt and sound by Matt Harris.
The program entitled “Welcome to our World”, included five pieces by the choir, a solo by Alysha Shelstad, duet by Marina Thomson and Father Andrew and a quartet by Rev. Ian Kellogg, Shelstad, Trithardt and Father Andrew.
As well, there were three congregation medleys that touched on many familiar Christmas carols.
The second of the performances was Sunday evening in Willow Bunch.
The Coronach and Bengough choirs joined the Willow Bunch community choirs for the annual Willow Bunch Community Choir Christmas Cantata.
The Willow Bunch choir is made up of 23 singers, under the direction of Lois Marit. Accompaniment was provided by Carol Marit and Wanda Pulfer.
The program included six selections by the Willow bunch Community Choir, solos by Jay Drouin and Lois Marit, a trio by Carmel, Serena and Grayson Lemieux. The Bengough Choir sang three pieces, with the Coronach Choir doing two choir pieces and a quartet.

The singing wrapped up with the congregation joining in the singing of Angels we have heard on high.
Both evenings finished off with a social with goodies and refreshments.
The Coronach and Bengough Choirs were only part way through their performances for the year with the Benough Cantata on December 8 and the Rockglen event on December 9.
The Coronach group also plans to sing for the residents of the Coronach Health Centre and Southwinds Manor on December 16.
