The Willow Bunch Wildlife Federation held its second Annual Wildlife Supper and Auction Saturday, January 14, to a crowd of over 200 people.  Those who attended were treated to a delicious supper featuring, beef, duck, deer, moose, bison, goose and elk all prepared by federation members.

Through many gracious donations of the local and surrounding individuals, businesses and service clubs as well as the auctioneering services of Randy Gaudry and Jeremy Brown, people were able to place their bid for one of the many great items up for silent and live auction.  It was this night that Trudy Shaver became the lucky winner of the JD riding lawn mower raffle put on by the federation.

Presentations were made to the following: Kenny Gaudry – typical whitetail, Andre Cayer – typical mule deer, Jeff Christopherson – non-typical mule deer and to Leo Lesperance, Mike Therrien and Troy Eger for hunter/landowner appreciation.

The success of the event over the past two years helps to support the community and growth in Willow Bunch.

As a result of the 2011 event, a donation to the Jean Louis Legare Regional Park was made in the amount of $5,000 to be put towards new campsites.  This is also of special significance in that this donation is made in memory of a fellow Wildlife Federation member, Neil Mainil who passed away suddenly in February, 2011. Neil was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and a camp site will be named in his honour.
