Hey, well alright sir, here we go, whatta ya gonna bid for. . . let’s start ‘er out here at $45, whose gonna give me $45!

$45 dollar 50 now 50 dollar 50 dollar, 50 dollar, 50 dollar give me a hollar, 50 dollar, Whodda bid a $50, dollar bill?

What’s more fun than an auction? Well, more specifically an auction where one of the most well know charities are receiving the benefits and the bidders have enjoyed a refreshment or two in the local tavern.

On February 26, Lawson and Gail Harkness, owner of the Fife Lake Hotel hosted their 19th annual Telemiracle Auction.

Bidders packed the bar for many hours of action-packed bidding on 100s of donated items from all over the South Country.

Items ranged from baked goods to clothing to art work and the bidding was fierce.

$80 cinnamon buns, $130 beef jerky, $150 puzzles to name a few!

Some of the more active bidders raised their hands to join in the fun, without even knowing what was on the auction block.

When the calling drew to a close and the bid receipts were tallied, the Coronach Kinsmen were happy to report the record breaking total of $17,216, up nearly $4000 from 2011!

While Harknesses and their staff kept the patrons in the bar fed and watered, members of the Coronach Kin, took bids and wrote receipts.

The auctioneering duties were held down by a number of capable men. Randy Gaudry, Lavern Loucks, Mason Richard and Dennis Seymour took turns at the mike, while Coronach Kinette Courtney Setrum and Johnny Lemieux spotted for bids.

Along with the auction, the Coronach Kinsmen drew for a set of season tickets for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Rob Berner was the lucky winner. The Kinettes also made a draw for two tickets to the March 3 Warriors Game, along with a Boston gift Card. Kevin Harkness went home with that prize.

The hotel also cooked up chili with all proceeds going to Telemiracle.

Telemiracle 36 was held in Regina on March 3-4. Nine members of the Coronach Kin attended the event to volunteer.
