The Daniels Country Fair Board in Scobey, Montana, is gearing up for the 2012 edition of the fair that will be held in conjunction with 100 years of Montana 4-H.
New this year, is the extention of the fair, by adding one additional day The dates for 2012 are July 28, 29, 30, 31 and August 1, 2012.
Sherry Fugere, with the fair board, said, “We have extended our dates so our spectators can enjoy more activities during the Daniels County Fair.”
Fugere talked about some of the new things at the fair, “Something we are hoping will attract the young and old will be some entertainment from the Action Entertainment crew. They bring to us the remote Nascar racecars, Speed Pitch baseball, football toss, and one on one Hoop shoot. This will all be set up on the east end of the open class building, where our free stage entertainment usually is.”
Fugere explained that the fair will begin on Saturday, July 28 with 4-Wheeler races mid morning and then the return of the Mud Boggin will begin after lunch. “We hope that this year will even be better than last!” said Fugere.
The 4-Wheeler races and Mud Boggin will be included in price of the $25 wristband that gets you into the each of the days of the fair and all of their daily events.
On Sunday, July 29, it is the return of the Third annual 4-D Jackpot barrel racing. “This has become quite an event and keeps growing each and every year. If you want more information, give Wanda Tade a call,” said Fugere.
She continued, “Monday, begins the actual fair itself, with 4-H judging and the “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” NRA rodeo beginning at 6:30 with the famous Wild Horse Racing following the bull riding.”
Tuesday will see the annual parade, along with several other activities throughout the day, and ending the evening will be the night show, featuring “ Home Free”. This is an a capella group of five guys with four-part harmony.
Following the night show, the friends at the Nascar Racecars are putting on a dance for the 4-H kids and youth.
Wednesday, the final day of the Daniels County Fair, wraps up the fair with the 4-H sale, Demo Derby Calcutta and then the unforgettable Demolition Derby at 7:00 p.m. reported Fugere. “This year right before the championship round, we are featuring Lawn Mower races (provided we get some entries). This should prove to be quite interesting as they make their way around the derby circle,” she said.
Fugere also reminds everyone that Fun Time Carnival will once again be in Scobey for all the fun-filled rides.
