The Coronach Golf Club hosted their bi-annual poker tournament on Saturday, March 24.
Thirty people pulled up a chair for an evening in poker at the Coronach Elks Hall.
Treasurer of the club, Tim Goddard reported $1200 paid out in prize money to five spots.
Goddard reported, “Fifth place for $96 was split between Ray Lange and Stephen Galbraith. Fourth place for $144, showing up the rest of the Setrum family, went to Laverne Setrum. Third place money of $192 went west with Emil Mielke.”
“The final two places was a family feud between youth and experience with Uncle Marv Holbrook winning first place money $480 and his nephew Dillon Fister coming in second and earning $288. Dillon also picked up $160 in 50/50 winnings. Miles Mattson was also a 50/50 winner for $135.” said Goddard.
Goddard said, “As always thanks to our many volunteers and those who donated food. Special thanks to Marv Holbrook who donated his $480 winnings back to the Golf Club.
“With Marv donating his winnings of $480 back to the Golf Club we will likely clear $2000. Proceeds will be used to help pay some of the bills and helpfully help to keep our Golf Fees from increasing substantially.” said Goddard.
The club is planning their next Poker Tournament for November 3, 2012.
