On Tuesday, November 15, residents on the west side of Coronach feared the worst when the power went out around 8:30 a.m. Having endured power outages in the past, some that stretched to days, Coronach residents are a little nervous.
They need not to have worried, as the power returned approximately one and half hours later, and the temperatures outside didn’t make inside living as chilly as -40° may have.
According to one SaskPower employee, power was diverted to a different line on the 15th to bring power back to the customers in Coronach, but the problem was still undetected.
SaskPower crews were in Coronach on November 23, to locate and repair the problem that caused the short outage. Nelson Powell, with SaskPower’s Transmission and Distribution unit from Regina, reported that the line damage was located in a backyard on Westview Drive. The crew was busy marking the area to repair the problem.
