Limerick Hotel wins Service Excellence Tourism award
Saskatchewan’s tourism sector honoured businesses and individuals at the 23rd annual Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala, which was celebrated in Regina on March 22 at the Regina Inn Hotel & Conference Centre.
Limerick Hotel in Limerick, Saskatchewan was awarded the Service Excellence Award for a Business. Limerick was nominated along with the Fir River Ranch in Hudson Bay and the Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site – Day Camp Program in Abernethy.
“It is always such a privilege for Tourism Saskatchewan to host our sector’s annual Awards of Excellence,” Dr. Lynda Haverstock, President/CEO of Tourism Saskatchewan, said. “All of the nominees, finalists, and award recipients are exceptional ambassadors and deserve recognition of their accomplishments. These impressive entrepreneurs, volunteers, businesses, and attractions epitomize hospitality and service, and play a key role in making Saskatchewan an inviting, enticing destination. We are so pleased to pay tribute to them.”
Bengough Municipal Arts Council’s (BMAC) Gateway Festival was nominated in the Event of the Year Award, under $20,000 budget. The Gateway Festival was up against the Dickens Village Festival in Carlyle and the Reno Rodeo (Reno Rodeo & Ag. Society) in Consul. The award went to the Reno Rodeo.
A 12-person tourism sector committee selected the 37 finalists and 15 award recipients from more than 90 nominations. The Chairman’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was selected by Randy Goulden, Chair of Tourism Saskatchewan’s Board of Directors.

Human Resource Development Award - Gold Eagle Lodge, North Battleford
Land of Living Skies Award - Ancient Echoes Interpretive Centre, Herschel
Online Marketing Campaign of the Year Award - Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport – Saskatchewanderer, Regina
Rookie of the Year Award - Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures Ltd., Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park
Service Excellence Award (Individual) - Arthur Denis, Champetre County, St. Denis
