Coronach RCMP has recently been advised of the increase of thefts/shoplifting from businesses in the area. This notice is to advise of the repercussions of stealing.

•  It affects the profit of the business which increases the prices.

•  It affects your reputation in town with everybody.

•  It affects your life. Shoplifting is a criminal offence and can make life difficult due to obtaining a criminal record. With this, you won’t be able to travel into the United States, or obtain certain jobs/employment.

Theft under $5,000.00- Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada -Everyone who commits theft is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.
