Supreme Honoured Royal Lady Sharen McLean is scheduled to visit the Coronach Royal Purple #349 on May 28, 2012.
McLean is the Royal Purple of Canada’s Supreme Honoured Royal Lady or President. Sharen has been a member of the Stavely, AB. #99 Lodge for 45 years. She resides in Calgary, AB. The Royal Purple is the auxiliary of the Elks of Canada and has 165 Lodges and 4, 151 memebers in the provinces and territories across Canada except Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.
The Royal Purple of Canada is charitable, nonprofit organization. It is a National Fraternal Organization identifying and addressing community needs through the volunteer efforts of its membership. Many individuals, sports organizations, educational facilities and grass root community activities reap the benefit of fundraising done by the members of the Royal Purple of Canada.
It might surprise some people the monetary extent of support offered by the organization. The Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children jointly give aid to hundreds of children each year with various maladies and conditions. this fund also supports hospitals, clinics, various medical facilities and ambulances with necessary equipment.
The Elks and Royal Purple of Canada meet jointly at a provincial conference once a year at a different location in the provinces that have a provincial association. They also meet once a year at the National Conventions have been held in Gander, NL, Yellowknife, NT and Fredericton, NB. In 2012, the National Convention will be held in Chilliwack, B.C.
McLean and her counterpart, Grand Exalted Ruler of President Jerry Wernicke of the Elks of Canada, will take the year to crisscross Canada visiting lodges that have anniversaries, walk a thons, special events, official visits that have been planned and will attend special funtions celebrating the 100 Anniversary of the Elks of Canada in 2012. The Royal Purple of Canada will celebrate their 100 Anniversary in 2014.
