Randy Gaudry will be the NDP candidate in Wood River in the 2011 provincial election.
He was selected as the NDP candidate at a nomination meeting Wednesday, January19 in Assiniboia.
“Randy is exactly the type of candidate we need for the NDP is to be successful in the next
election,” Saskatchewan NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter said. “He has a strong record of local involvement, in particular within the Métis community, and we know he would make a great representative in this constituency.”
Randy Gaudry has worked as a manager of an equestrian and rodeo centre, an auctioneer and a
field supervisor at a livestock cooperative. He also competed on the professional rodeo circuit for
10 years. As well, Randy has served as the president of the Métis Local #17, a board member onthe Métis Cultural Development Fund for the Gabriel Dumont Institute and as a master of ceremonies at “Back to Batoche.”
The NDP has now nominated 34 candidates in the run up to the 2011 election. Nominations will continue throughout the year as the party prepares to defeat the Wall government.
