Another busy week in Coronach and another successful community event!
I had a great time during the CTV Hometown Tour. I was lucky enough to follow them around through most of their stops and take some great photos that you will see in this issue and listen in to all the “tv” talk.
I was so surprised at how many people that were involved in the live production. They truly seemed to enjoy their time spent in Coronach and the hospitality of our town.
I have chatted with lots of people, at the event and since. Most had a great time at the event and those that were not at the event but were able to catch the broadcast or the post on the CTV website or Facebook loved the coverage we received.
There were some though that thought that all that Coronach and area has to offer was not covered. Thank to everyone for your positive comments about my short television appearance, but I must take responsibility for the absence of all of our great tourist attractions. My job was to talk about the Big Muddy Tours, the museum, the reservoir, the campground, our golf course and of course I was hoping to give a plug to our new provincial golf champions! All my preparation went out the window when the anchor didn’t lead me in the proper direction. . . My apologies to all for not being able to think quick enough, with my television, to figure out how to work my list of things in when he led with “so just sort of share with us how the community has changed over the decades ...”
I would like to send a shout out to Colleen Christopherson-Cote and the hometown committee for working with CTV to figure out an agenda for the afternoon with only a short few days to prepare. I know that the CTV camera man was taken to, and pointed in, many more places than appear in the footage and those shots that were left out during the editing process left Colleen and the committee as disappointed as anyone else. As well, there were many other ideas tossed around that either didn’t work out or CTV weren’t interested in. Thanks Colleen and all of the committee members for all of your hard work!
Speaking of hard work - I am so thrilled to see that the fowl supper or fall supper (what do you call it) has returned to our community events calendar! I was so disappointed to see them disappear last year. Thank you in advance to the Catholic Women for getting their supper going this year. I can’t wait to go!
I am sure I will appreciate not having to cook that day as I am quite certain that I will be exhausted from my week chasing Delaney in Disneyland. I am getting very excited, although my plan to get in shape for Disney hasn’t really “worked out” - did you like that play on words?
Well, I guess that is it for this week, except for a welcome to Alex Berthelot, our Grade 10 Career and Work student that you will hear from for the next few months. Welcome to the crazy world of newspaper deadlines Alex!!
