Hello, my name is Alex Berthelot. I am 15 years old and currently go to Coronach School. This will be my first article because I will be working at Triangle News for Career and Work and I will be writing an article each week until the end of this semester.
I have 5 siblings; I am the middle child. Things at home are alot different now as I am the oldest kid left in the house. It’s just me and my two younger sisters Amy and Erin for children left.
I enjoy playing various sports such as volleyball, basketball, baseball, badminton, track, cross country and curling. I also like reading books, writing stories, hanging out with friends and playing PS3.
I am currently in Grade 10; there are about 20 kids in our class. I enjoy writing, but now that I’m writing in a news paper I’m actually nervous. After every sentence, I re-read it over and over until I’m sure I haven’t made a mistake.
I think this particular work placement is excellent because it has responsibility, I won’t just be doing odd jobs.
I feel like I am writing for the New York Times with all the effort I put in, but this is my article so everything I write or say reflects on me, so I want it to be good.
If I could choose any place next year it would be here, I feel like my own boss and can say and express my thoughts in my own article.
I’m a little upset that Triangle News isn’t selling cell phones right now, I think that working in a SaskTel dealership would have been a whole new experience with the job. I hope they are able to get a new dealership!
I think I can get use to coming here almost everyday to work just because of its overall work experience environment.
