Mid-January already!! We are on the downside of winter and we have only endured a couple of winter-like days! It is a bit hard to believe, but I would bet we are not quite out of the woods yet! I was thinking how odd it was that we have just about made it through an entire hockey schedule without any cancellations! Yep, I am knocking on wood as we speak!
If you stopped in the office on Wednesday or Thursday last week, you would have been treated to a bit of a change in the music playing in the office! Normally, Darren has to endure country music and the sounds of the CKRM Flea Market! He has really gotten into it though and he can’t believe that people don’t just Google Jamie and Gloria’s riddle and phone in to win the hamper! Google is Darren’s answer to everything! And I must confess, Google rarely fails to come through with the answer to any question posed! Anyways, I am sure you are on the edge of your seat, wondering why I have switched it up! Well. . . with the announcement of the Nickelback Here & Now Tour 2012, I have been listening in to Saskatoon’s Rock 104 in hopes of winning some tickets!
I am not sure who would go with me, but I am sure I could bribe someone with a free ticket! This is one instance where my “Can’t Miss ANYTHING!!” trait has reared its ugly head! Maybe it’s because Grant got to go to a Nickelback concert with the boys and I didn’t! That doesn’t happen often! A Nickelback concert is definitely on my “bucket list”, but, sadly, it may not get marked off this year! I may have to wait until I am prepared to let Delaney go and before she is able to go without me!
How about Van Halen? Did you hear they might be coming to Regina? Anybody getting tickets to them? Grant is pretty sure there would be no reason to go see them! I say, get a seat way at the back and who cares what they look like! Oh, there it is again. . . that “Can’t miss ANYTHING!” trait. . . Well, in my defence, if everyone felt like I did, we would never have to cancel another event or go with less people or teams that we would like!
On that note. . . Thank you so much to everyone who came out for our Adult Fun Night at the curling rink last weekend! We did manage to get 7 teams out, less than half of what I would like to have, but we had fun none-the-less! I know everyone is sick of me ranting about low participation, but we won’t be able to continue many more years with the level of curlers that we have. We have tried just about everything, including reducing weekend spiels to just one evening of three-end games, but still we can’t get teams! Come on out and join us. It is fun! Really!!
