I think we had one day of each season this week!
What crazy weather! We just can’t help but talk about the weather when you have weather such as the weather we have experienced this year. Bathing suits and sprinklers one day and +1 the next!! If you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes. . .
What a week! Some weeks, a four day week is just not enough, and this was one of them!
Of course, I started out a bit saggy, having put in an exhausting weekend full of fun, family and friends.
The Coronach Merchants Wind-up Cabaret was a supreme, success! Is supreme too much? How about Unbounded, Utter, Outright, Unadulterated? Yes, I have a thesaurus, and I have been known to use it!
Whatever word you like, last weekend was the best! Firstly, we cleaned house! And I am the first to confess that I am messy, so that in itself was a big deal!
Company arrived in time for turkey supper Friday and stayed till after Chinese food on Sunday. In between was the coming and going of so many friends and family!
The cabaret was packed and the hockey club was able to make an awesome amount of cash to help out with next season, so that was great.
The best part, for me of course, was dancing to and singing along with, Parallel 49. I, along with a couple of cousins, danced every single dance from start to finish! I spent the whole evening bouncing (literally) from one group of friends, to another and from one group of family to another! My 47 year old muscles were screaming after that! But, oh so worth it! If that band would play every weekend, I would be so fit!
Unfortunately, the band hasn’t played for some time, and we aren’t likely to hear them again any time soon. With the boys growing up and getting their own lives, booking gigs is nearly impossible. I am just thankful for all of the great times we have had listening to Dallas, Tad, Brandon, Ty and Brody and I hope to hear them again.
As you will see, this is our Grad issue. It has been fun getting all of the photos gathered of this year’s crop of graduates. It is always so nice to see them in their cap and gown pictures.
Big thanks to Bonnie Elder for supplying us with photos of the graduates. As well, she has submitted photos of carnival, and dance and next week you will get to see the grad class in their commencement duds. Thanks again Bonnie! Can’t wait to see the grad photo!
If you are planning to attend Coronach’s commencement this weekend, you undoubtedly have more than one invitation stuck to your fridge. If you do, you are probably busy planning your route for the evening of visiting following the exercises. Good luck to you and we will see you on the street!
I will close with a little bit of boasting! When 90 year old Leona Brenner got her first perfect hand in cribbage, a 29 point hand, one of the first things she wanted to do, was to call me! We are proud that we come to people’s minds when they have an exciting moment in their lives! Thanks so much everyone for reading and wanting to be a part of our paper! And, thanks for putting up with interruptions, along with my camera in your faces and my body in your way when you are trying to watch something or get a photo for yourself!
Have a great week everyone!
