Another month underway!  Marvelous May!  I particularly like that saying as the Month of May has my dad, Marv’s, birthday in it!  “Marv”elous May!!  It helps me remember his birthday!

Looking forward to a busy month with ball beginning and hopefully a round of golf!

I haven’t been out yet, but the course is sure greening up nice!  As well as the lawns around town.  And, along with the green there is of course a nice carpet of yellow many places.  Gotta love those dandelions!

I have a bit of a love/hate with dandelions.  On the plus side, they are a sure signal that warm weather was at least stopped by!  As well, who can’t appreciate a bouquet of freshly gathered dandelions in a hand of a child!

On the down side, they are such a menace! Of course, for Grant, the farming boy that he is, loves to douse the perky weeds with a good dose of chemical.  And who am I to argue?  You won’t see me out there with a sharp trowel or that pokey thing, whatever it is called digging them out.  I certainly agree that there are far too many chemicals being thrown around but I guess until I am willing to put the time in, you better steer clear of our yard!

Delaney, Boycie and Grant will all be busy playing ball again this year.  Rockglen is back in the baseball league so it will be fun to go back to Rockin’ Beach for games again! Delaney didn’t play last year, so I am looking forward to watching.

I do miss the years when we played slo-pitch.  We had so much fun and there were lots of teams in town. I hope some slo-pitch gets going again this year, it is great to see action on the ballfields.

I spent last weekend in Regina with a group of girls at “National Scrap booking Day!”

I, along with 200 or so other ladies and one man, gathered at the Turvey Centre in Regina to work on our Creative Memories Scrapbooks.

The room was divided into digital and traditional scrap bookers.  Our whole group were working on photo albums or pages on our computers.

I got quite a kick out of all of the traditional scrap bookers and all of their supplies!  Some of them had boxes and boxes of supplies.  They were obviously very organized to be able to bring all of that stuff to the event for the weekend.

We spend Friday evening till almost midnight and all day Saturday till late in the evening working on our computers.  Yes, as you can well imagine, it was some long days!  Long days, but I certainly accomplished a whole lot! As well as having many laughs with our group of ladies.

My project was an album of the adventures of my family in 2011.  I managed to summarize our activities onto 64 photo album pages.

I think that digital albums are a great way to save your memories.  I had done a bit of traditional scrap booking where you crop the photos, and journal in the albums.  They are beautiful and more personal that the digital albums, but for a busy gal, digital is the way to go.

One thing for sure. . . when I look at my year in review, I realize how lucky I am to enjoy the things I do and I am very thankful for all of my friends and family that I share each of these adventures with! Cheers!
