What’s black and white and red all over?

Still thinking. . .

A NEWSPAPER!!

That is my lame attempt at being funny to try to compete with the “funny guy” across the office.

Not that funny? Well, he told me the joke!!!

I suppose it was some really good attempt to sabotage me, right?

It doesn’t take much!

My kids ask me how old they will have to get to find me and my jokes funny, but I tell them I don’t really care if they think I am funny, I think I am funny and some of my friends think I am funny!! Well, they pretend anyways! And I must say “Thank You”!

Making someone laugh really makes my day! Think quickly of your best times and I am pretty sure you were laughing!

Making a baby laugh has to be the best feeling in the world! I remember making my babies laugh till they had hiccups, now they just have hiccups!

I have never felt so much pressure to try to inject a bit of humour into my column as I do now, that I share Page 2 with Darren!

I have been called “the voice of reason” and I think I am better fit for that than “funny girl”!

So forgive me for not being as funny as the driveling guy next door, but funny is hard work!!

I would like to take a quick minute to thank everyone who contributed to this week’s paper! It is impossible for us to get to all of the events in the area and we are very thankful for those of you who take the time to take photos or write an article for us.

Please enjoy Carla Froshaug’s beautiful photos of the high school rodeo finals in Martensville. I love taking rodeo photos and Carla has done a fabulous job.

The weather has cooperated quite well this week and it sounds like most of the crop is in the ground. That is good news!

I got my big crop in - in my back yard! I also got behind the rototiller in my garden! That is a first, I am sure.

I am not much of a yard gal. Besides garden work, I also forced myself out to mow the lawn and got almost all of it done before running out of gas. I didn’t see any reason to look for gas, I had done way more than I ever have!

Did you plant a garden? My patch is pretty small as the trampoline is in the middle of it.

I am hoping that I can soon trash the trampoline and have my garden space back.

Not that I am that great of a gardener, but we get it in and maybe weeded once or twice and always get enough potatoes, carrots and tomatoes to make it worth while.

My Grandma Hicks, whose birthday would have been this past week, always had a huge garden and took such joy in her flowers and garden.  I do wish a bit more of that would have rubbed off on me!  Happy birthday to Grandma, as well as to my Mom and father-in-law and numerous cousins, friends and aunts!!  June is busy!!

The count down is on until holidays, as I am sure is going on in many homes and offices.

Have a great week, and thanks for reading, even if I am not that funny!!!
