I kept busy as I made the move to a house last week. My body is still paying the price for it. I was so tired, I didn’t even feel like drinking. I know, crazy. On the Friday, we were moving furniture until 1 a.m.
What’s a good way to annoy your new neighbors? Move furniture until 1 a.m. on a Friday night.
Anyways, we’re slowly getting settled. I do hate being unorganized and things being out of place. My OCD has been on overload lately.
I do love having a backyard again. I have a great view of the sunset every night, that will never get old. With the backyard, does come more work, but hey, I do have a few spare minutes each week for yard work.
I bought a Shed-in-a Box to keep all my yard tools in. It’s basically a steel frame with a tarp over it. So, if you need to borrow anything, the zipper is always open. Wait, what? Well, you know what I mean. Reviews were good on the shed and took a couple hours to assemble. Whether it will stand up to the weather remains to be seen. But, I’m also going to use it as a sauna, so it’s definitely money well spent.
Was very proud of my daughter Kay-lyn last week, as she won four, first place ribbons at Track and Field in Bengough.
Now, Kay-lyn isn’t the most athletic girl in the world. She can be a little uncoordinated when it comes to sports. I tried to get her to play baseball this year, but after she played at school, she said she sucks at it, and there was no way she was playing. Who am I to argue? I’m not going to force her to play. And, let’s face it, she kinda throws like a girl.
Hey, I can make fun of my daughter too. If you remember last week, she told me she’s doesn’t read my column anyway, so I can pretty much say anything I want about her.
Anyways, Kay-lyn won most of her ribbons for running. I had no idea she could run that fast. I see her around the house when she has to do chores, and trust me, she dawdles and takes forever to do something. I just hope she remembers she can run that fast when the boys start chasing her. One can hope, can’t he?
Kay-lyn also won a fourth place ribbon. When did track and field start giving those out? I thought it was always first, second and third. Why not give out a fifth, sixth, etc.? I think athletics are really important, but should they be rewarded for fourth? In my day, when we finished just out of the top three, we’d get mad, stomp our feet and go cry somewhere, and we turned out ok. I think.
I never win at Scrble.
“I’m not one to complain, but...” or, “Not to be a pain, but...”, usually means you are about to complain or be a pain, so just come out and say it. Either way, I will be annoyed.
I found out what crumpets were this week, so it wasn’t a total loss.
If you are having a bad week, just keep this in mind: In 1976, Ronald Wayne sold his 10% stake in Apple for $800. Now it’s worth $58,065,210,000. Ouch.
