Another season of minor ball is underway in Coronach.
Three boys teams and five girls teams from Coronach will play league games this year.
The 14 & under Bantam boys team will be coached by Archie and Diane Foley and Curtis Kupper. They will play games against Assiniboia, Glentworth, Rockglen and Mossbank. With dwindling numbers, it has become common place for players to play with the teams younger or older in order to play. The Bantam team includes boys from Grade 6 through 10.
The 10 & under Mosquito boys team is coached by Carrie Schnell and Jeff Dionne. Other teams in this division are Gravelbourg, Kincaid, Mossbank, Assiniboia (2 teams), Lafleche and Rockglen.
The seven & under Rookie boys team is coached by Graham Gagne. Gravelbourg, Glentworth, Kincaid, Mossbank, Assiniboia Lafleche and Rockglen will play games against Coronach.
The boys playoffs will be held on June 16 in Gravelbourg.
Over on the girls side, the 18 & under Midgets are coached by Corby Cairns. Assiniboia has two teams in this age group, along with Gravelbourg and Mankota.
The 15 & under Bantam girls are coached by Cam Elder, with assistance from Amanda Gent. The only other team in this division is Mankota.
The 13 & under PeeWee girls team is coached by Lynn Berthelot and will play against Mankota, Assiniboia and Gravelbourg.
The Pee Wee girls include players from grades 6 through 9.
There are two girls teams from Coronach in the nine & under Mites group. One team is coached by Ron and Donna Dyck with assistance from Christa Elder. The other team is coached by Trevor Schnell and Sheri Anderson. The only other team in this division is from Assiniboia.
The girls playoffs will be held in Coronach on June 23.
There is also a Learn To Play group. Tara Eger coaches 20 kids ranging from three to six, with the assistance of MacKenzie and Kade Eger.
The Coronach Nationals have entered a team in the Dunning Mens Baseball league once again. Rockglen has reentered the league, joining Assiniboia, Morse, Kincaid, Mossbank, Riverhurst, Herbert and Gravelbourg. The teams will play in a North and South division with playoffs in July.
