The Coronach School Golfers were one medal short of a clean sweep at Prairie South South East sectional playoffs in Assiniboia, as well as a hole-in-one by Cole Hicks.
Cole sunk his Titleist Pro V1 ball off the tee on hole #7 while teammate Riley Grona looked on. “I hit it behind the hole, then it rolled back and into the hole.” said Hicks about his first ever hole-in-one. While Hicks reported his reaction as a “smile”, he reports that teammate Grona, “was way more excited than I was!”
Hicks and Grona were among 53 golfers, from Coronach, Bengough, Rockglen and Assiniboia Schools, that hit the links at the Assiniboia Golf Club on Saturday, September 11, in hopes of advancing to District play. Golfers competed as individuals and some also competed on the designated teams.
