Regina golfer, Daegan Wall picked up his second straight SGI CANADA Junior Order of Merit Tour victory. He fired a spectacular 68-73 to claim the Wildwood Junior Classic by 12 strokes. The win gives Wall 1,000 total points in the SGI CANADA JOMT standings after just two events.
Bengough’s Tyrin Foley had another strong tournament finishing second with a 78-75. Drew Kocur who plays out of the Royal Regina Golf Club finished third (77-78) while Riley Grona of Coronach finished fourth (78-79).
Foley and Grona finished first and second respectively in their 15-16 age group. Unlike the MJT event last weekend, awards were not given in each age group, but only in the overall division.
According to Darren Dupont, Golf Saskatch-ewan/Golf Canada Summer Intern, scores of golfers aged 14-19 are used for rankings in the SGI Order of Merit Standings. After a second overall this week and a fourth overall last, Foley sits atop the SGI Order of Merit Junior Mens 15-16 age group. Grona, with a third and a fourth overall, sits in second, 25 points behind Foley. “That’s two, top five finishes for Tyrin and Riley in the the first two events. That says alot.” said Dupont.
In the twelve and under boys Saskatoon’s Bradley Moser was victorious on his home course firing an 86-90.
