Well the hockey season is in full swing, with boys and girls from the area packing their hockey bags for points as far away as Kipling, Carnduff and Oxbow, Saskatchewan.
With declining populations affecting the numbers of players within the Coronach Association, for the first time in many years, there is not a Pee Wee aged team playing out of the Coronach Sportsplex.
The Pee Wee aged players, five strong, have scattered to play on three different teams. Kade Eger is traveling to Weyburn to play in the South Sask Hockey League with the Weyburn Youngfellows. Kade joins Dalton Dosch, from Willow Bunch, who also plays with the Youngfellows. Liam Marshall and Ariana Schnell joined the Atom team as overaged players. The Atoms play in the South East Minor Hockey League against two teams from Radville, two teams from Weyburn, four teams from Estevan and Crosby, North Dakota.
Preston Knudson and Braden MacLean will be playing with the Bantams, playing in the South East Minor Hockey League. The Bantams, who have players from Bengough, are up against Carlyle, Oxbow, Weyburn, Radville, Lampman, Carnduff, Estevan and Kipling.
The Midget Broncos, with players joining them from Bengough, Willow Bunch and Assiniboia, are playing in the Moose Mountain Hockey league with Redvers, Estevan, Carlyle, Weyburn, Lampman, Quadtown, Radville, Carnduff and Kipling.
At the bottom end of the age groups, are the Novice and Jr. Novice teams who have some ambitious Jr. Novice players who have agreed to play on two teams to keep the Novice team alive. The Novice and Jr. Novice teams play in the Wood River Minor Hockey League.
