Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association cowboys and cowgirls are set to compete on the national stage.
The Junior High Division consists of:
1. Grade 6-8 students who are in good Academic and Social standing in their schools
2. Have competed at qualifying rodeos in the SHSRA, which are held in various communities in the province from August through the end of May.
3. Have competed and finished in the top 4 in one or more events.
The NHJFR is held in Gallup New Mexico and began on June 26th and will wrap up on July 2nd.
Each contestant will compete in two rounds of competition in each event and the top 20 in each event will return Saturday July 2nd in the evening performance to determine who the champion is by competing in the Short Round of competition.

Howard Floyd, National Director of the SHSRA(Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association) said, “Our SHSRA Mission Statement is to create a positive environment for members to grow and further their education.”
Floyd concluded, “All of these same students also qualified for Canadians in Virden Manitoba which will be held August 4-6. they will be competing against Students form British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba to become the 2011 Canadian Champions in their respective events.”
