On Sunday July 20, 16 year old Emma Dyck, from Coronach, competed in the Saskatchewan Athletics Provincial Track and Field Meet at Regina.
Emma placed second in both Shot Put and Discus. This will allow her to compete in both disciplines at the National Meet in Quebec in August.
Emma qualified for the National Meet after winning the Gold medal in discus at the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association Provincial Track Meet. In her gold medal win, Emma threw over 30 metres; a distance that qualifies her to compete at Athletics Canada's National Competition in Sherbrooke Quebec in August.
With the gold medal performance, Emma also qualified to be on the Zone 3 Team at the Western Canada Summer Games in Lloydminster on Aug. 5th.
Dyck to compete in three events at Summer Games
