Six provincial medals for area athletes

SHSAA Provincial Track meet , Discus , South Central District , Saskatoon

Athletes from the SE and SW sections of the South Central District had a strong showing at the SHSAA Provincial Track meet that was held in Saskatoon June 1 and 2.  Brandon Thurlow and April Menke represented the Coronach School.

Highlights for area track athletes included Mossbank’s Noah Miller, who won the junior boys individual award and a silver in Javelin and bronze medal in 100m Hurdles.

Bengough’s Janaya Welburn picked up a silver in Junior Girls Javelin, while Coronach Midget Brandon Thurlow captured a bronze in Discus. Assiniboia’s Anne Richards also brought home a bronze in Discus. Assiniboia’s Alyssa Grondin jumped to a bronze medal finish in Triple Jump.

The South Central team picked up three silver medals in the relays.
